Granada CF is a professional football club located in Granada, Andalusia, Spain. It competes in the Spanish Second Division and plays at the New Los Carmen Stadium.
On April 6, 1931, Granada Football Club was officially established. In the early stages of joining the team, the team competed in the regional league for 10 seasons and won the championship of the 1940-41 season. Finally, they made their debut in La Liga in the 1941-42 season. In the 1944-45 season, the team was relegated to the Segunda Divisi ó n. Afterwards, the team played in the Segunda Divisi ó n for 12 seasons, repeatedly failing to compete in the La Liga. Finally, in the 1956-57 season, they returned to La Liga as champions of the Segunda Divisi ó n. In the 1958-59 season, he made his debut in the final of the predecessor of the Spanish King's Cup, the Francisco Cup, but ultimately lost to Barcelona Football Club and won the runner up. In the 1967-68 season, he won the championship in La Liga and returned to La Liga. In the 1971-72 and 1973-74 seasons, the team achieved 6th place in La Liga twice. Starting from the 1980s, Granada team fell into a long-term slump and could only compete in the third tier Segunda B league for most of the season. In the 2001-02 season, due to salary arrears, he was forcibly relegated to the fourth tier of the Spanish Third Division by the Spanish Royal Football Association. In the 2005-06 season, Granada returned to the Segunda Divisi ó n B league. In 2009, the Pozzo family took over Granada, and in the 2009-10 season, Granada returned to the Segunda Divisi ó n after a 22 year hiatus. In the 2010-11 season, Granada returned to La Liga after a 35 year hiatus. In June 2016, Chinese businessman Jiang Lizhang became the new owner of Granada team. In the 2019-20 season, Granada finished 7th in La Liga and qualified for the UEFA Europa League for the first time in the team's history. In the 2020-21 UEFA Europa League season, Granada team was eliminated in the quarterfinals. In the 2022-23 season, win the La Liga championship and return to La Liga. In the 2023-24 La Liga season, it has been confirmed three rounds in advance to be relegated to the La Liga 2.
