A.S. Roma is a professional football club located in the Italian capital city of Rome, currently competing in the Italian Serie A league and playing at the Olympic Stadium in Rome.  
In 1927, the Club of Rome was established. In the 1941-42 season, Roma won their first ever Italian Serie A championship. In the 1950-51 season, Roma was relegated to the Italian Serie B, which was the only time in the team's history that they were relegated. In the 1960-61 season, Rome won the International City Fair Cup (now the Europa League) championship. In the 1979-80 season, Nils Lidholm served as the head coach of Roma for the second time. Under his leadership, Roma Club won the Italian Cup twice and the Serie A championship in the 1982-83 season. The following year, he led Roma to the final of the UEFA Champions League, but lost to Liverpool in a penalty shootout. After Nils Lidholm left, the Roma team won the Italian Cup championship three times in 1984, 1986, and 1991. In the 2000-01 season, Roma won their third Serie A championship. In the 2005-06, 2006-07, and 2007-08 seasons, Roma won the runner up title in Serie A for three consecutive years. Since 2009, Roma's record in Serie A has never broken through, but the team has shown a certain degree of competitiveness in European competitions. In the 2017-18 season, Eusebio Di Francesco led Roma to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League. On May 26, 2022, Roma defeated Feyenoord in the Europa League final and won the club's first European trophy in history. In the 2022-23 season, Roma lost to Sevilla in the Europa League final.  
In September 2024, Ivan Yurich became the head coach of the team. In November, Yurich was dismissed and Claudio Ranieri became the head coach. In December, in the 15th round of Serie A, Roma defeated Lecce 4-1, and Ranieri achieved his first coaching victory after returning to Roma; In the round of 16 of the Italian Cup, Roma defeated Sampdoria 4-1 and advanced to the quarter finals.
