Liverpool Football Club is a football club located in the port city of Liverpool, Merseyside, northwest England. It was founded on June 3, 1892 and is one of the teams in the English Premier League.
On March 15, 1892, Hoddin established the Liverpool football team on the vacant Anfield stadium. The original name of the team was Everton Athletic, a publicly traded company specializing in football and sports venues. However, due to the Football Association having other teams called Everton, the team was renamed Liverpool. On June 3, 1892, the industry committee officially approved the name of the Liverpool team. In their first season of the Lancashire League, they won the championship and successfully advanced to the second division (second tier) league in the following second season. Subsequently, the team won the championship of the second tier league and successfully advanced to the first tier league.

Liverpool has won a total of 20 English Premier League titles, 8 English FA Cup titles, 10 English League Cup titles, 16 English Community Shield titles, 6 UEFA Champions League (including UEFA Club Cup) titles, 3 UEFA Europa League (including UEFA Cup) titles, 4 UEFA Super Cup titles, and 1 FIFA Club World Cup title. In January 2024, Liverpool officially announced Klopp's retirement at the end of the season, ending his eight and a half year coaching tenure. In July 2024, Sloot replaced Klopp as the head coach of Liverpool.
