Real Sociedad is a football club located in San Sebastian, Basque Country, Spain, and is one of the teams in the Spanish La Liga. Established on September 7, 1909, with Arnoeta Stadium as its home ground, it can accommodate 32076 people.
The Royal Society Club was named the Royal title after receiving sponsorship from the King of Spain in February 1910. The name was changed due to factors such as the Spanish Civil War. In 1928, the Royal Society began participating in the Spanish La Liga and was one of the first teams in the league, finishing fourth that season. After the end of the Civil War in 1939, it was reverted back to the Royal Society Club and has been in use ever since. In the 1980s, Real Sociedad won the La Liga championships in the 1980-81 and 1981-82 seasons. In 2002, Jia Society introduced several high-quality foreign players to assist him in becoming the runner up of the league in the 2002-2003 season. But in the 2006-2007 season, he only ranked 19th in La Liga and suffered relegation. After three seasons of hard work, he won the Spanish Serie B championship in the 2009-2010 season and was promoted to La Liga again. On April 4, 2021, in the final of the 2019-20 Spanish King's Cup, Real Sociedad defeated Athletic Bilbao 1-0 and won the championship.
In May 2024, the 2022-23 La Liga season came to an end, with Real Sociedad ranking 6th with 16 wins, 12 draws, and 10 losses, accumulating 60 points and securing a spot in the 2023-24 Europa League.
