Tottenham Hotspur F.C., also known as Tottenham Hotspur, was founded in 1882 and plays at Tottenham's New White Hart Lane stadium in northern London. It is one of the teams in the English Premier League. Due to the traditional white home jersey, Tottenham fans refer to themselves as the 'White Lilies'. The club motto 'Audere est Facere' means' dare to act '. Prior to the First World War, Tottenham Hotspur had already become mortal enemies with neighboring Arsenal, and the match between the two teams was known as the 'North London Derby'.
Tottenham Hotspur Football Club was founded in 1882, and their first competitive match was a 5-2 victory over St. Albans in the London Association Cup in 1885. In 1896, Tottenham Hotspur joined the Southern League. In 1899, Tottenham Hotspur moved to their new home ground and the stadium was named "White Hart Lane" after the owner's nearby bar. He won his first Southern League championship in 1900. In 1901, they won the English FA Cup, becoming the only non league team in history to do so. They only joined the English Football League in 1908. Tottenham Hotspur was the first team in the 20th century to win both the league and the FA Cup, and was one of the three teams to have won two consecutive FA Cups. They were also the only team to have achieved this feat twice. In 1963, they won the European Cup Winners' Cup and became the first team in the UK to win a European tournament. Tottenham Hotspur has won two top-level league championships in their history, including 8 FA Cups, 4 League Cups, 7 Community Shield Cups, as well as two UEFA Cups and one UEFA Cup Winners' Cup.
