West Ham United F.C. is a football club located in the Newham area of East London, founded on June 29, 1895. Its home stadium is the Olympic Stadium in London and it currently participates in the English Premier League. The team has won 3 FA Cup championships, 1 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup championship, and 1 UEFA Europa League championship.  
West Ham United rose and fell between the top and second leagues in the 1970s and early 1990s, known as the "elevator". After being promoted to the Premier League in 1993, West Ham United competed for ten seasons. However, in the 2002/03 season, despite scoring 42 points, they were unfortunately relegated to the English Championship in 18th place, along with the founding team of the Premier League, West Bromwich Albion. West Ham United competed in the English Championship for two seasons before returning to the Premier League in 2005 through promotion playoffs and finishing as runners up in the FA Cup in their first season back in the Premier League. In 2011, West Ham United was relegated to the English Championship again, but returned to the Premier League the following year through promotion playoffs.
West Ham United is hailed by the English media as the 'Academy of Football', having provided numerous talented young players to national teams at all levels. It is truly a 'star factory', and this reputation has been officially accepted and inherited by the club. West Ham United has a leading youth training system in the UK, having trained world-class players such as Bobby Moore. According to Forbes' 2022 Most Valuable Football Club Rankings, West Ham United ranks 18th globally with $900 million.
